We continuously try to bring our customers exceptional experiences, and by using augmented reality, we are adding a digital layer around our product. The application is one part entertainment and one part service. Ultimately, it adds excitement and value to anyone who buys a bottle of ABSOLUT VODKA”, says Franz Drack, Global Marketing Manager at The Absolut Company.
To try the app, the user needs an augmented reality visual code that comes with a neckhanger attached to the ABSOLUT VODKA bottle. Consumers that cannot get hold of the neckhanger can download and print a tag from absoluttruths.com. When holding the front side of the code to an iPhone camera, the real-world environment is modified and combined with several digital layers. As a result, the user gets a three-dimensional experience of Åhus in southern Sweden, the small village where each bottle of ABSOLUT is produced. The application reveals tidbits of information about the wheat fields, the distillery, the bottling plant and other fundamental elements that define the quality of ABSOLUT.

By flipping to the back of the code, a selection of drink recipes appears on the screen, presented in 3D through the same augmented reality technology.
The ABSOLUT TRUTHS app is available for iPhone 3GS, 4, 4S and iPad2 on absoluttruths.com and in App Store. It is created by ABSOLUT in collaboration with Great Works, the digital agency of ABSOLUT.
